Expand Your Love of Bridge!

Two New Games Just for You—Relaxed, Fun, and Great for Your Brain (and Social Life!)

submitted by Sally Kneser

Do you love your weekly or monthly bridge game with friends? That special time to laugh, share stories, enjoy some snacks, and stretch your mind? Whether you’re playing in someone’s kitchen, at a community center, or in a local club, you already know that bridge is more than a game—it’s a joy, a challenge, and a community.

But what if you’re ready for just a little more?
Now’s your chance. Two Denver-area bridge clubs are offering brand new games tailored specifically for Novice and Intermediate players. These events are perfect for anyone who enjoys playing socially but wants to take their game up a notch—without the pressure of advanced competition.
These are welcoming, low-stakes games where you can learn while playing. Mistakes are expected—and laughing about them is part of the fun! You’ll be surrounded by people who remember what it’s like to be new and who want to help you succeed.

Why Bridge Is So Good for You—Mind and Mood
Bridge is like brain boot camp—with better snacks. Experts often describe it as “aerobics for the brain” because it gives your memory, concentration, and problem-solving muscles a real workout. Research shows that learning and playing bridge can sharpen thinking skills, help delay cognitive decline, and even boost your mood.

And perhaps just as importantly—bridge connects people.
In today’s busy world, where we’re often tied to screens or rushing through routines, sharing a table for a couple of hours offers real face-to-face connection. It’s an antidote to loneliness and a way to build a community of like-minded people who enjoy laughter, learning, and maybe just a touch of friendly competition.

Looking for a New Group? You’re Not Alone.
Many younger or newer bridge players love the game but find themselves limited to a small circle of friends. These new games are a fantastic way to expand your bridge network, find potential partners, and grow your confidence.
Put yourself out there! These games are designed to help you meet others at your skill level—people who are also looking to improve, build partnerships, and have fun doing it.

Who Might You Meet at the Table?
Lots of friendly faces from the neighborhood are already attending these new games. You might bump into Pam Bansbach, Carol and Brad James, Diane Curd, Sally Kneser, Juliana Adams, or Russ and Davi Rowe. They’ll tell you it’s fun to win a few masterpoints—but even more fun to play with supportive partners and opponents and laugh over a misplayed hand or a lucky bid.
