2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Is Masterpiece

The Koreans know how to engineer and assemble some great automobiles.  The latest test car enjoyed over the holidays was a 2026 Hyundai Calligraphy hybrid with a suggested manufacturer’s price of $60,625.   This eight-passenger, all-wheel drive combination, features a 2.5L/ turbocharged 4-cyl. engine teamed with a hybrid system that is outstanding. The end result is an extremely powerful drive with  overall fuel economy of 29 mpg.

The Palisade model is assembled in Ulsan, Korea with 90 percent Korean parts, including engine and transmission.  Hyundai offers a 100,000/ ten-year warranty on the power train that includes the hybrid battery components for that time period.  The powertrain includes a HTRAC transmission and eco and sport modes.  I only used the eco mode and the acceleration was still potent.  Steering wheel paddle shifters add to the ease, but I never had to use anything but the drive gear choice. The hybrid and engine combo worked perfectly together with a heated steering wheel and attached shift selection for drive, reverse and park.

The appearance is modernistic and powerful with a wide front grille and dual pane sunroof.  The power trunk opened to a spacious cargo area with fold up ventilated rear seats.  Both front and second row seats featured heat and cooling and a selection of captain “relaxation seats.”  The suspensions system  provided an extra comfortable ride over deteriorating Colorado highways.

The Calligraphy has a massive display of dashboard controls, both physically and visually.  Power outside mirrors and a key system that opens doors when the driver approaches entry with the key module.  Ambient soft blue lighting embellishes the dash and doors for nighttime driving.  The “head’s up” windshield display features speed and sign warnings.  A full array of safety features include cross traffic alerts, 360 camera view of surrounding area, and dual seat wireless UBS ports. There are a bevy of safety features,  such as airbags, and side rear seat window curtains.  The driver’s front seat features “Ergo”  motion and integrated  memory for seat control.

The grille design is unique and powerful looking.  The all-wheel drive and 21” alloy wheels add to the stability of the all-weather vehicle.  There are many controls for safety and comfort along with the impressive “Titan Charcoal” exterior paint and interior “gray, navy” décor.  The cabin interior is spacious and uplifting in design and elegant with leather trimmings.  A Boise premium sound system filters sound throughout the cabin.

This is one of the outstanding Hyundai models and comes complete with only one extra feature option of carpeted floor mats for $245.  All the rest is included, and I did notice a lack of a spare tire with what is descried as a “Tire mobility kit.”   The Calligraphy features a rear tow hitch and 115 V- power outlet.  Roof rails can haul a load of outdoor sporting equipment to mountain recreation locations.  All LED lighting especially adds to nighttime driving.

This vehicle is a complete luxury machine that has power, performance, comfort and adds safety to your driving experience. The Koreans are assembling some awesome vehicles.
