The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year campaign wrapped up last Friday evening by announcing a record breaking fundraising total of $310,326. 16 student candidates from the Denver metro area came together to fundraise for seven weeks in support of LLS’s mission to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma; and provide support to patients and their families. Student candidates raise money in honor of a young local patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. In addition to making a significant impact in the fight against blood cancer, students develop professional skills such as entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, and project management, ensuring they stand out among their peers when applying to college and/or competing for jobs.
James Chrisman won the title of Student of the Year for being the top overall fundraiser during the seven weeks. James and his team, Team Chrisman, had a record breaking year for the campaign with the highest total ever raised in the Rocky Mountain chapter. We are so grateful to James, all the student candidates and their team members for their hard work and dedication to the mission of LLS!
