The Dems have AOC and the Republicans have AVD. Alexis Valdez Darnell is the director of the Republican National Committee (RNC) State Party Development Division. The New Mexico native joined the administrative staff of Gov. Susana Martinez and served as governor’s director of operations. In 2013, she assisted the political action committee that helped elect a Republican majority in the New Mexico House of Representatives. That’s just a glimpse of the talented, enthusiastic women who has worked in politics or government at the local, state and national level for 18 years. She recently oversaw the development and implementation of all political programs and voter contact operations in 12 western states. She reported that there are now 10 regional political directors in charge of fewer states. The State Party Development Division offers an opportunity to “turn back” and will be working with every state from deep blue to red including the GROW Program. The goal is to build local grassroots, neighborhood teams, leader programs and ongoing training for volunteers.
