The Centennial City Council, sitting as an ethics board pursuant to municipal ordinance, cleared Mayor Stephanie Piko related to a grievance filed by a former council member against the mayor.
The charge of unethical conduct was made against Piko by former City Councilman Vorry Moon, whose wife Candace Moon is currently a member of the council. Vorry Moon contended that it was unethical for Piko to make endorsements of various candidates in the November election.
The vote was 5-1 in favor of the mayor. Only six council members sat on the ethics board. Voting not to dismiss the ethics charge was Council Member Marlo Alston.
Recusing themselves from sitting on the ethics board were the mayor, and Council Members Kathy Turley and Candace Moon.
