GV holds its annual celebration of the Festival of Lights

GV Mayor George Lantz talks with local Rabbi Avraham Mintz in front of the Hanukah menorah symbolizing the Festival of Lights and the large tree decorated for the Christmas season.

On Sunday, December 5, Greenwood Village Mayor George Lantz and Debbie Lantz welcomed residents and guests to the city’s annual celebration of the Festival of Lights, an observance held around the world to celebrate freedom and dedication.  In addition to around 100 residents and guests who attended the event, GV City Council Member Judith Hilton, former Greenwood Village Mayor Ron Rakowsky and Margaret Rakowsky came to show their support, along with former GV Parks, Trails and Recreation Commission Chair Brent Neiser.

South Metro Fire Rescue sent over their ladder truck from Station 32 across the street from GV City Hall to drop candy and little parachutes for the children who came to the Festival of Lights.
