OpenWorld Learning welcomed its new CEO at a recent reception in her honor. Piep van Hueven brings 25 years of leadership and public service in higher education and the nonprofit arena to OpenWorld Learning. She led BikeDenver, Denver’s bicycle advocacy organization, as its first staff member and executive director. Piep headed fundraising and marketing efforts and served as deputy director of development and communications for Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. Prior to moving to Colorado, she led and supervised collegiate athletic programs as a lacrosse and field hockey coach, assistant athletic director and senior woman administrator at the University of Maine. She succeeds the late Dean Abrams who died from pancreatic cancer in 2013.
