Pivot: the central point or fulcrum, a person or thing that is central or important to someone or something else, balance or turn on a central point, a sudden rapid change of direction.
It takes a village…PIVOT is not just a new nonprofit with a clever name, it is a movement. Many nonprofits already focus on one element of a child’s development and needs. Powerhouses Larry Mueller, John Elway and George Solich put their creative business and philanthropic minds together and found a need to connect the dots. They want to focus on the whole child and produce meaningful, life-changing results and measurable outcomes. They have a lofty goal of garnering $100 million in 10 years by harnessing the power of doers and dollars to help Colorado’s next generation to succeed. They also drafted chairman/ CEO of Seattle Fish Company James Iacino and former CEO of Prologis Walt Rackovich to be founders of the village movement.
Elway will serve as chairman of the board and had this to say: “I am thrilled to be a founding trustee of a new and exciting philanthropic organization in Denver – one that will bring not only our powerful networks together but also ignite and encourage our NextGen to get involved and also give back to their local communities.” George Solich will serve as secretary. “This is a pivotal time in Denver’s community, where it is apparent we need collaborative focus on the whole child. The social innovation will focus on new forms of cooperation among nonprofits centered around the whole child.” Treasurer Larry Mueller also had a message: “The power of providing critical pathways for our next generation to reach its full potential and measuring results are the keystones of PIVOT’s efforts. To pivot means to change direction and take a new path for success. Together, we can ‘move the needle’ faster and together, we can create real opportunity.”

Besides exciting entertainment, a surprise guest appearance, silent and live auctions, the walk-about soiree will include cuisine from the Denver area’s finest restaurants and purveyors. Collaboration for change is at the root of Flight to Luxury. Through sponsors and attendees, it‘s chance to give back.
