Doctors Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing specialized health care for the underserved, celebrated a milestone of reaching its 25th year of operating in the Denver-metro area, April 5. The silver anniversary party took place at the Inverness Hotel in Greenwood Village and featured a fantastic array of people who were an integral part of Doctors Care and its mission.
The night included a table with iPad stations that showcased the launch of a new community help website called www.maximizinghealthcare.org and a new promotional video. During the party, Executive Director Bebe Kleinman gave a speech outlining what Doctors Care has done, the ladies of Swedish hospital performed a “rap” about the founder and the organization, and Dr. Gary VanderArk, the founder of Doctors Care, gave out numerous “thank yous” and laughs.
The featured guest for the night was Dianne Jordan, a patient whose story exemplified the mission and outreach of Doctors Care. She told her story and thanked everyone that was part of her journey to get back to good health. Once the presentations were done, VanderArk and Kleinman cut the 25th anniversary cake and thanked everyone for coming.
The night ended with a reminder from VanderArk that in his experience, “We receive more than what we give.”
From all the people in attendance, those words continue to ring true as Doctors Care continues its mission in Denver and the surrounding community.
