Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with two weekends of non-stop Celtic fun! For the past 23 years, the Denver Brass has gone all in — and audiences have gone all out — for this spirited, soulful, totally entertaining series of concerts featuring some of the most beautiful music and sprightly dances like only the Irish and Scottish can create. Don your kilts as they present the high-quality brass performances they’re known for, but this time with bagpipes, drums, vocals, fiddle, guitar, organ, and Irish and Scottish dancers!
First, be inspired at Echoes of the Emerald Isles, March 10-11 at Bethany Lutheran Church, featuring Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums and organist Rick Seaton. The magnificent acoustics of Bethany Lutheran will surround you with melodies of shear warmth and beauty.
Second, throw your cares to the wind and join in a Celtic extravaganza at Brass, Bagpipes & Co: Off Kilt-er!, March 16-18 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. With over 30 guest performers, this will be a weekend you do not want to miss! They’ll be featuring Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums, Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers, Wick School of Irish Dance, Joanna and Iain Hyde on fiddle and guitar, and fan-favorite tenor vocalist Todd Teske. Of special note, four of the featured dancers are national and world champions, including two world medal holders from the World Irish Dance Championships, which feature only the top 1 percent of all Irish dancers.
Kilts will adorn both performers and audience members alike, so feel free to dress in your favorite Celtic garb. Both shows will feature such Celtic standards as The Ancient Threads, Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral. Off Kilt-er! will also feature Todd Teske singing Danny Boy, I’m Thinking Ever Thinking, and Morning Has Broken. Joanna and Iain Hyde will entertain as their fiddle and guitar are combined with vibrant Celtic dancing in Molly on the Shore and Sailor’s Hornpipe, among many others.
These shows sell out each year, so reserve your tickets now. Whether you choose Echoes of the Emerald Isles, Brass, Bagpipes & Co: Off Kilt-er!, or both, treat the family and your favorite leprechaun to a one-of-a-kind experience. You can find more information about both concerts at denverbrass.org and can purchase tickets by visiting newmantix.com/denverbrass or by calling 303-832-HORN (4676).
