This week’s test car review is very special. I’m test driving a spectacular “Ruby Flare Pearl” Grand Highlander Platinum Hybrid Max that is one of the hottest Toyota SUVs on the market. This beauty has a final assembly in Princeton, Indiana making it eligible for those “Made in America” tax incentives to promote the auto

Toyota craftsmen in Georgetown, Kentucky have assembled an outstanding Camry all-wheel drive, fifth generation hybrid model. I enjoyed test driving this vehicle during a week of colder weather with some limited slick roads and freezing temperatures. The “Supersonic Red” paint was well equipped for winter weather with heated outside mirrors, steering wheel, and heated front

The Koreans know how to engineer and assemble some great automobiles.  The latest test car enjoyed over the holidays was a 2026 Hyundai Calligraphy hybrid with a suggested manufacturer’s price of $60,625.   This eight-passenger, all-wheel drive combination, features a 2.5L/ turbocharged 4-cyl. engine teamed with a hybrid system that is outstanding. This week’s test car was a 2026 Mazda CX-30 with international assembly from the expanding Japanese auto giant. This CX-30 is assembled in Salamanda, Mexico with 65% local parts, 10% United States, and 15% from Japan. The 2.5L engine

The words ring out, “I’m falling in love again…” as I motor around Colorado highways driving this shiny “Everest/Mineral” painted 2025 Toyota 4Runner hybrid masterpiece. The vehicle is described as a “Trailhunter,” with rugged tires and underneath skid plates; this vehicle can travel in the high country on a big game hunting excursion. I would

The 2026 Mazda3 Is A Fun Driving Experience  The Mazda brand is making a strong impact on the U.S. auto industry with quality vehicles at moderate prices. Mazda vehicles, for the most part, are assembled in Hofu, with Japanese parts including engines and transmission. Unclear if, and when, they may move some assembly facilities to

If you haven’t owned or driven a Toyota Prius, you are missing a fine driving experience. They’ve been around for many years, but they keep getting better, and better, and of course, more costly. But they are worth every dollar; the test car of the week runs $41,304. It is a beautiful machine, sleek in
