Bellco presented $25,000 to Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation in support of the hospital’s nurses and medical staff both specifically in the emergency department and hospitalwide. The gift will help fund Children’s Hospital Colorado’s (Children’s Colorado) Nursing Resilience Programs, designed to help ensure nurses and medical staff receive the support they need to lower stress levels and healthfully cope with the physical and emotional demands of their roles. The donation was presented at an event at the hospital that included hospital leaders and members of the nursing staff.
Bellco and Children’s Colorado have been community partners for 12 years with Bellco annually hosting mobile blood drives for the hospital at various branches and providing financial contributions through its Charity of the Month program. Bellco’s newest branch is located just down the street from Children’s Colorado at I-225 and Colfax.
“While every single member of the Children’s Colorado team plays a vital role in caring for the hospital’s patients and their families, nurses are on the front lines when families come in – especially in the emergency department – offering comfort, solace, care and reassurance in what can be a very frightening situation for children and their caregivers. It is our incredible honor to help fund the programs the hospital has in place to ensure these amazing individuals get the support they need – be that emotional, spiritual, psychological or physical – to stay strong, healthy and resilient,” said Candice Aragon, Bellco’s vice president of marketing.
Across the Children’s Colorado network of 17 locations, nearly 2,500 registered nurses clock in each and every day and night, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
“Our resilience programs are funded entirely through philanthropy and grants, so we are truly grateful for contributors like Bellco who make these much-needed programs possible. Bellco’s generous gift will help us continue to support and encourage our nurses and medical staff who give so much of themselves to our patients and families every day,” said Kali Wallace, senior manager, corporate partnerships at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation.
