Chrysler has a fabulous line of vehicles that incudes Jeep, Ram, and they make this very versatile van siding door Pacifica. They have introduced the Pacifica Hybrid Limited. A classy entry into the hybrid market averaging up to 82 mpg or 30 mpg with the powerful 3.6L, V6 engine. The hybrid only system will provide up to 32 miles on electric battery power with a 2-hour 240-volt recharge time. That means if you commute less than 30 miles per day you may never need a gasoline station again. But, this Pacifica goes far beyond just a hybrid but a powerful V6 engine with front leather bucket seats and comfortable roomy rear seating with third row fold down seats.
This is a smooth riding powerful and versatile van with push button sliding side doors for easy back seat entry for passengers, packages, or groceries. There is a lot of safety features with side doors that open for departing and entry passengers. Also, the ease of loading and unloading with these pushbutton sliding doors.
The immediate response to the drive and ride is the dial transmission with two-speeds mounted on the dash. The drive mode seems to work for all occasions and is easy to operate, however this driver would prefer a different sequential transmission with shift mode gear choices.
The larger engine is a real boost for this hybrid with some hybrids having smaller engines and less power. Hybrids have been known to have trouble in deep snow with the battery power not strong enough to move enough to start the auxiliary engine. Certainly not the case with this Pacifica.
The buckets seats and comfortable ride are very impressive. However, there is no center console arm rest and a big gap exists between the two front seats. I miss the larger arm rest between the seats and also the deep storage compartment found in most vehicles.
The appearance is that of a powerful van with a sleek hood and “Jazz Blue Pearl” paint. The interior is attractive and seats and steering wheel are heated and cooled. This is a very versatile utility vehicle that can haul a soccer team or large family with ease and comfort.
All of the safety features are included and now we have Car Play where the smart phone can be connected through the radio channels.
The Pacifica Hybrid Limited comes with price tag of $50,375 and a 5 year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Chrysler is very international, with the engine is made in Mexico, transmission in US, and the assembly in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
I like driving this vehicle and the ride is exceptional.
