By Gary Massaro

Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes will announce shortly this morning, Aug. 17, that former state Rep. Tambor Williams of Greeley is his running mate.

“It is Tambor Williams. I have it on good authority. It is confirmed,” Weld County Commissioner Sean Conway told The Villager.

Williams is an attorney from Greeley who served four terms in the Colorado House. She was executive director of the Department of Regulatory Agencies under Republican Gov. Bill Owens.

Democratic candidate John Hickenlooper chose Colorado State University-Pueblo President Joe Garcia to be his running mate.
